Dance and technology join together in this exploration of space, sound, light, and motion. Using infrared sensors, live video graphic generation, motion capture, and other techniques, BodyVox creates a stage experience like no other. The company continues its legacy of pushing the bounds of our senses and perceptions, taking dance to new horizons.

The Portland Ballet presents ‘The Enchanted Toyshop’ and ‘Tourbillon,’ a new work by Anne Mueller with Portland State University Orchestra, Ken Selden, music director

After last year’s sold-out shows, The Portland Ballet is reviving its holiday hit, The Enchanted Toyshop, Thanksgiving weekend in a double bill that will also feature a new ballet, Tourbillon, by co-artistic director Anne Mueller. The Portland State University Orchestra, under the direction of Ken Selden, will provide live music for both works.

The full cast features 75 dancers and 38 musicians from all over the Portland and Vancouver areas.
Tourbillon will showcase 27 advanced dancers in four pieces set to rarely heard music by Joseph Lanner.

Making a memorable White Bird Uncaged debut in Fall 2015, L-E-V, which in Hebrew means “heart,” returns with a spellbinding new creation OCD Love by choreographers Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar. Matters of the heart actually form the theme of this work, also dealing with OCD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, which repeatedly poses challenges for love and for life. Six powerful dancers will move to the pulsating techno beats of DJ Ori Lichtik.
