Under the Artistic Direction of Durante Lambert; LYFE Dance Company, formally known as The Detail, has had the opportunity to perform for sold out audiences since 2005. Known as the premiere, Portland based, Hip Hop Company of the Northwest; famed for it’s incomparable athleticism, energy, innovative choreography and visual effect. This passionate group of dancers have trained extensively in many styles including African, Hip Hop, Contemporary/Modern, Jazz, Ballet, and Tap. Many of them have performed professionally for companies such as the Northwest Afrikan American Ballet, The Portland Trail Blazers (NBA), The Portland Fire (WNBA), Jefferson Dancers, and have been featured in industrial shows for Nike and Columbia Sportswear. Many of LYFE’s dancers have done music videos and gone on tour with artists such as Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo, Usher, Cassie, Missy, Ciara and more.

The dancers of LYFE continue to share their love of dance through local, national (Washington, California, Alaska, Ohio, etc.) and international (Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc.) performances and workshops. This foundation of diversity and professionalism is the signature of LYFE Dance Company.

In addition to performing, LYFE is dedicated to exploring, educating and broadening horizons through urban dance and movement. You will find many of our dancers standing right besides you in a dance class as we continue our education and journey through dance.
